Stop chasing money

Chase needs instead

Don’t get me wrong - I think money is important because it buys me possibilities for growth and freedom of choice.

But money is a result of solving problems for others and comes after the act.

MJ DeMARCO describes this incredibly well in his book ‘The Millionaire Fastlane’.

He wrote:

Never start a business just to make money. Stop chasing money and start chasing needs. Let me repeat that because it’s the most critical thing in this book: Stop thinking about business regarding your selfish desires, whether money, dreams, or ‘do what you love.’. Instead, chase needs, problems, pain points, service deficiencies, and emotions.

Entrepreneurs fail because they create businesses based on selfish premises, and selfish premises don’t yield profitable companies; they lead directly into the 90% failure wastebasket.

I love to write down what problems I am having today. Chances are that other people struggle with the same things. Providing a solution could be an interesting business opportunity.
